Sculpture and woodwork

My 3-D work delves into the dynamic relationship between form and function, exploring how design can enhance usability in everyday objects. Starting with the experimentation of carving the organic form of the potato, I moved on to working with wood, and manipulating the curvilinear waves of each layer. With the intention of practicality and essentially creating a toy piece for infants in mind, I ended up with a minimal but dynamic mobile inspired by the ocean.
